Redesigning a 10-year-old inspection app while people use it every day.
For ten years, developers designed it. Inspectors use it on site: phone in hand, camera running, tapping and reading at once.

Customers kept telling us: too many buttons while inspecting.
Our rule: as few taps as possible.

A system rebuilt from the product
The product evolved faster than its original component library. After redesigning the app, new patterns kept appearing across Web and Mobile, old components stayed in the library, and new screens were often built with detached UI.
I audited the old and current UI to see what zInspector actually uses today. That audit became a cleaner Design System, built around the components and patterns in the product now.

AI, but not as the front door
The team wanted AI behind the main button from day one. I proposed starting inside the inspection flow, testing with older users first. We went that way.

We kept the list view, but made cards the default: a friendlier way to see that much at once. Plus more shortcuts and filters.
