Company Description

zInspector is a US-based B2B SaaS platform for property inspections, used by property managers, inspectors, and real-estate teams to document, track, and manage inspections across mobile and web.

As Senior Product Designer, I led the full mobile app redesign, grounded in how users interact with the product daily. I redesigned core workflows end-to-end, built a new scalable design system, and addressed key usability issues across the existing web dashboard.

What was broken

  • Fragmented navigation and entry points, forcing users to think instead of act.

  • No clear hierarchy between critical tasks, context, and secondary actions.

  • A UI not designed for real field workflows, making daily usage slower and error-prone.

What changed

  • Rebuilt the mobile experience around clear task priorities and real-world workflows, reducing cognitive load in the field.

  • Introduced a scalable navigation system that unifies actions, context, and progression across the app.

  • Established a consistent visual and interaction language to support future growth without redesigning core flows again.

How inspections really happen in the field

Before: A cluttered capture flow with competing actions and unclear feedback.
After: A camera-first experience with clear condition states, instant feedback, and reduced cognitive load during inspections.

Impact Highlights

  • –30% taps per inspection

  • Faster item capture

  • Clearer condition states

  • Fewer interruptions in the field

    Measurement & Validation

Based on Amplitude event tracking (tap count, flow paths, and interaction reduction) and Maze usability testing, comparing the old inspection flow with the redesigned experience.
